Bledug Kuwu is a mud cauldron (mud volcanoes) which located in Desa Kuwu, District Kradenan, Kabupaten Grobogan, Central Java Province. This place can be gone through approximately 28 kms eastwards from town Purwodadi. Bledug Kuwu is one of tourism object pledge in this area, besides source of endless fire of Mrapen, and Waduk Kedungombo. Interesting object from this Bledug is mud eruptions containing salt and takes place is continuous periodic, between 2 and 3 minute. In geology, mud cauldron Kuwu, as other mud cauldron, it is release activity of gas from within earth core. This gas usually is methane. Kuwu is the only having location in Central Java. Mud eruptions happened usually brings also mineral rich condensation from mud underside upward. Case Sidoarjo also is form of mud cauldron, though for the things this last level of the higher activity. According to hereditary story circulating among local public, Bledug Kuwu happened caused by hole connecting the place with Selatan Ocean (Indian Ocean). It is said the hole is return road Joko Linglung from Selatan Ocean towards empire of Medang Kamulan after giving in Prabu Dewata Cengkar which has turned into white crocodile on the South Ocean. Joko Linglung it is said can make the hole because he can transform to become dragon is condition that he confessed as Aji Saka child.
